August-September 2025 Newsletter
Welcome to our August-September 2025 Newsletter

Not everyone signs up to our free bi-monthly newsletters, so we’ve added the latest one to our News pages. This way those who don’t want to give out their email address – or who aren’t computer-literate – can keep in touch with the latest info.
If you didn’t receive our last Newsletter; here it is:
As usual, our first priority is to thank the appreciative people who have donated to the Historic Vehicles website. HV does have some advertising support, but we are indebted also to each donor, for helping keep the website content growing every month.
In our News section we reported on the Heritage Truck Show’s success in Brisbane; updated the Goodwood Revival status; reported on the Outback Car Trek’s contribution to the RFDS; recorded Honda’s 60th F1 win anniversary; reported that collectible vehicles are holding their values; noted a Land Cruiser 40 Series get-together in Perth; listed Isuzu’s merchandise release and its Variety Bash support; featured 60 years of truck production by Mercedes-Benz at its Wörth plant and searched for a new home for a very clean KB-5 Inter’ truck. Phew!
To Car Features we added stories on a very special Lotus Elite, seven generations of BMW’s 3 Series and checked out the unique Modern Classic Cars business in Sydney.
To Car Brands we added the little known King marque.
To Motorcycle Brands we added the linked Humber and P&M Panther entries.
In Truck Features we traced the history of the ubiquitous ‘skip’ waste bin and to Truck Brands we added the Pagefield marque that pioneered the liftable bin.
We’ve been posting some more of our very high-quality, Historic Vehicles caps to website donors. We’re keeping these caps exclusive by giving them only to people who donate A$60 or more to the Historic Vehicles website.
Like you, we’re busy doing late-winter maintenance tasks, so that we can venture out once more in or on our classic machines, come the spring – Allan Whiting, Jim Gibson and the Historic Vehicles team.
