Global Coffee Run world record attempt

Collecting Cars, the global online platform for the sale of classic, performance and collectible cars, is conducting its next Australian Coffee Run event in Melbourne and hopes it could help set a new world record.

The Melbourne Coffee Run car gathering will be held on Sunday, 19th May, 2024 at Calder Park Thunderdome. A large and eclectic array of classic and collectible cars is anticipated.

The event will form part of the Collecting Cars Worldwide Coffee Run, a series of connected Coffee Run events to be held around the globe on 19th May. The aim is to create the largest-ever car meet of its kind, by assembling a record number of collector car enthusiasts.

“Melbourne’s vibrant car culture runs deep,” said Lee Hallett, Collecting Cars’ Sydney-based head of Asia-Pacific.

“It has a wonderful mix of European exotics, muscle cars, Japanese JDM heroes and everything in between.

“We can’t wait to see everyone at Calder Park on 19th May.”

Collecting Cars has been busy in 2024, with growing on-line auction sales, classifieds listings and event attendances, including Auckland in January, Sydney in February and Adelaide in March, at the recent Motorsport Festival.

Next month’s Melbourne Coffee Run follows the company’s successful Sydney event in February, which drew more than 2200 spectacular cars and thousands of onlookers.

A McLaren Senna GTR and Lamborghini Diablo Roadster stood out amongst the hypercars on display. Crowds were also wowed by the showcase of supercars from the last 40 years as well as the streams of muscle cars, sports cars, everyday older ‘survivors’ and off-roaders .

In December 2023 the company launched its Private Sales premium service to sell the world’s most exclusive and exceptional cars. Along with online auctions and classifieds sales, Collecting Cars conducts more than 60 car-culture events annually.

Collecting Cars was established in 2019 and now boasts more than 120,000 registered members. It has sold more than 14,000 lots, totalling more than AUD $1 billion. Visit to discover more.
