Home required for this International KB-5
One of our Historic Vehicles regulars needs shed space and this very clean Inter’ KB-5 has to go. We think the haggling starts around thirty grand.

The Inter’ K-Series was one of the best looking trucks produced by IH and followed the D-Series. The early post-1940 K-5s were powered by 232 cubic inch, 81bhp side-valve petrol engines and thousands of them saw service in WWII.
Post-War KB models appeared in 1947, with substantially unchanged exterior appearance, other than for ‘grille wings’ on both sides of the vertical radiator grille. Power still came from a side-valve petrol type, but the redesigned Green Diamond GRD-233 replaced the former HD-232 and maximum power increased to 93bhp.

As with the previous K-Series, the transmission was a four-speed constant mesh box and could drive through a single speed rear diff, or a two-speed, in the case of KBS versions.
The particular KB-5 model featured here was restored some years ago and then employed as a promotional vehicle. The engine is reportedly in good running condition, but the truck hasn’t been on the road for a couple of years, so obviously needs some attention to wheel-end components.
