Honda’s F1 history celebrated
Honda is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its first victory in the FIA Formula One World Championship (F1) this year.

The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 10th – 13th) celebrates the 75th anniversary of F1 and the 125th anniversary of motorsport, with the theme: ‘The Winning Formula – Champions and Challengers’.
As part of this commemorative initiative, Honda will showcase the Williams Honda FW11 that brought Honda its first F1 Constructors’ Championship title, in 1986 – almost 40 years ago – when it scored nine wins out of 16 rounds.
Nigel Mansell, who piloted the FW11 back then, will take the wheel for a demonstration run. Its appearance follows several months of meticulous, period-correct restoration by Williams Heritage.
This FW11 is also scheduled to participate in the Monterey Car Week 2025, an automotive festival held in California, USA, in August.
The FW11 is powered by the Honda-developed RA166E, 1.5-litre, V6, twin-turbo engine, said to produce more than 1050bhp.
